Vancouver Gets Kosher Dining

The Jewish Tribune reports that a the city's first kosher restaurant has opened:
ANCOUVER – Maple Grill, the West Coast Kosher Kitchen, has been open for business since Feb. 10 serving BC Kosher( meat and veggie) lunch and dinners every day of the week.

The menu includes yam wedges, Ima’s Hummus, Moroccan and ocean burgers, Street Wings, Mezurashii Ahi tuna, lamb chops, West Coast Quesadilla, and rib eye steak. There is also a varied selection of soups and salads, and of course a nice selection of parve deserts (like chocolate mousse, ice cream, crisps and strudels).

The price range for a kosher sit-down meal at Maple Grill is anywhere between $9.75 for a soup and salad, and $32 for a steak platter.

“We chose the name Maple Grill because it sounds neutral, so you can’t draw a conclusion by the name alone,” said Godeghesi.

Maple Grill is at 1967 West Broadway (the Kollel Building, at the corner of Maple, hence the eatery’s name).

It is open from Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to sundown, and Saturday from sundown to midnight.

It's so difficult to find restaurants that offer kosher food. I am not the kosher eater myself but my wife is. She has a very strict diet and even has some allergies. I don't know how she hasn't starved to death over the years because she can barely eat anything. I'm glad you found these restaurants though. http://Koshergourmet.biz
